工程 认证

A student working in the 工程 Center.

The Bachelor of Science in 工程 has been designed to meet the 工程 认证 Commision (EAC) 认证 Board for 工程 and Technology (ABET) Student Learning Outcomes. The Bachelor of 艺术 in 工程 is an applied 科学 degree and has not been designed to meet the EAC-ABET 标准. The Bachelor of Science in 工程 is not eligible for ABET accreditation until after the first graduates have graduated from the program.

工程 Program 任务 Statement

Program Educational Objectives

Within 3-5 years of graduation, alumni of Carthage 工程 will establish themselves as professionals who:

  • Identify opportunities, 评估风险, and balance competing objectives to develop sustainable solutions that add new value and consider the needs of future generations.
  • Are well-versed in solving a large range of technical problems across engineering disciplines.
  • Work constructively and ethically as a member of diverse teams among professional and community organizations.

Bachelor of Science in 工程 Student Learning Outcomes

毕业后, Carthage Bachelor of Science in 工程 students will have acquired the knowledge, 技能, and behaviors required:

  1. 识别, 制定, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, 科学, 和数学.
  2. To apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public 健康, 安全, 和福利, 以及全球, 文化, 社会, 环境, 经济因素.
  3. To communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  4. To recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, 经济, 环境, and societal contexts.
  5. To function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, 建立目标, 计划任务, 达到目标.
  6. To develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.

Bachelor of 艺术 in 工程 Student Learning Outcomes

  5. To understand ethical and professional responsibilities and the impact of technical and/or scientific solutions in global, 经济, 环境, and societal contexts.
